Individual Education Plans
Individual Education Plans, or IEPs, are designed to enhance the learning of a student with special needs. It can include special methods of instruction or alternative resources that may assist the student in learning the material being presented to the class. The term “special needs” often refers to a student with a developmental or physical disability, but can be used also to describe differences in learning styles.
Work-Study Programs
The learning of a student enrolled in a particular vocational program may be enhanced by being placed in a work-study program at an appropriate job site. Such a program is developed cooperatively by the instructor and the employer. The responsibilities of the student, the employer, and the instructor should be clearly defined. Work-study programs are often part of a postsecondary student’s financial aid package.
