CA3 Graphic Illustrations/Manipulation

My first graphic was a digital photo downloaded from FreeFoto.com (http://www.freefoto.com/index.jsp) digital library; it was located in the business category under the computers subcategory. I saved it to my hard drive as “Keyboard Enter” in .jpg format; the file size was 36.1 KB.

I opened the file using Microsoft Photo Editor and cropped the image to reduce the amount of space around the enter button. The manipulated image was saved in both .jpg and .gif formats; the respective file sizes are 2.74 KB and 3.78 KB

My second graphic is clipart from Microsoft Office Clipart Gallery (Business Collection), a graphics library installed on my computer.

Using the format features available in Word, I changed the background color from pink to pale orange and the previously pink shadow to a pale orange. I then resized the clipart to 50% of its original size. The clipart was copied and pasted into Microsoft Paint which I used to save it in .jpg and .gif formats; file sizes 15.1 KB and 13.5 KB respectively.

My third graphic is a digital photo (in .bmp format) that I received as an attachment to an email from Jeff Henderson, Business Program Director at Bryman College’s El Monte campus. I downloaded the photo which measured 5 x 6.6 inches and an original file size of 900 KB. I opened the photo with Microsoft Photo Editor and cropped it to remove the El Monte campus’s street number. I then reduced the size by 50% to 1.56 x 3.13 inches and saved it as a .jpg file (17.8 KB).
